A Man That Shouldn’t be There

First a little history… I am 34 years old and the proud mother of 4 wonderful boys. I now reside in Pennsylvania, as I have for the past 11 years. However, my story, encounter, tale, or what ever you choose to name the experience took place some 27 years ago in the family home that I lived and grew up for the first 22 years of my existence, located in New Jersey. The house that I now speak of is quite old; at least 150 years old (it probably is even older than that). It has been in my family since the early 1950’s and is still owned and lived in by my father. And at the age of 7 is where I will begin my story.

As I said I was around 7 years old at the time. I shared a bedroom at the top of the stairs with my older sister. The room is very small so my sister and I had bunk beds. I slept on the top bunk. We were both asleep on this night. I remember waking from a nightmare (even after all this time, I still remember the nightmare that I was having). But little did I know that the true nightmare for me was not the on in my dreams but the one that I faced when I opened my eyes.

The room was dark but what I saw was not. In the doorway of my bedroom I saw a man. He was tall and thin. He was wearing a suit from what I now know to be the mid to late 1800’s, complete with a top hat and ribbon neck tie. He had brown eyes and a long thin mustache. And although the room was pitch black, I saw him in every detail. He/it seemed to be glowing.

Needless to say I screamed. My mom, who was downstairs at the time, turned on the hall light and came running upstairs. I told her what I had seen, only to be told that I was dreaming it.( which I knew that I wasn’t.) The hall light was left on that night, and probably every night there after until I moved out. I will say this, I never did feel entirely alone in that house even when I was the only one there. I always had the feeling that if I turned my head fast enough I would see something that I really did not want to see. I still feel this way when I go to visit my father. But this is not where this story ends…

About a year ago I was talking with my then 13 year old son. Just talking about this and that and somehow the conversation turned into discussing my fathers (his grandfathers) house. Out of the blue my son starts to tell me that he never liked going upstairs by himself. He felt uncomfortable being up there alone. Now you have to understand that I never ever told him my feelings about that house or about what I had seen. That is why what he told me next gave me goose bumps and a chill as I have never felt before… He continued on by telling me the following…

He was alone up stairs one day on the computer that is in the room at the top of the stairs (the same one that my sister and I shared). He was finished on the computer and decided to go downstairs to get something to drink. He got to the bottom of the stairs and was about ready to open the door (the stairs leading up stairs are enclosed and you need to open a door to go up them) and he looked back up the stairs. What he saw was the shadow of a tall, thin man wearing a top hat. In the same spot where 26 years ago I had seen him!

I never doubted what I saw that night. I have had other experiences since. Some just a feeling, some just a glimpse of something out of the corner of my eye, and on one other occasion an apparition. Nor do I doubt what my son told me he saw. But does him seeing the same thing that I saw prove that the house that I grew up in has an unseen resident? For me, him telling me his story is proof enough.

It was three years ago when school had just finished, and summer break began. I was 15 and didn’t really believe in paranormal activity like ghosts. During the year, I became friends with another fellow 15 year old named David in our high school guitar class. He always talked about ghosts when he had the chance, but I still always thought of it as fiction.

During the first week of the break, David called me because he had just got a new big screen TV, and wanted me to stay overnight and have a horror movie marathon, seeing as his parents were in Seattle for their anniversary. When I arrived, David was trying to find a solution to a problem. He couldn’t connect his because there was no room to set up a cable outlet. But then a light bulb clicked, and he thought of having it in the attic.

He had never been in there before, but always heard movement. He had lost a lot of interest in the supernatural and thought it was just rats.David had never been into his attic before, so this was kind of like an adventure. We pulled down the stairs to it, and walked up.

It was very dark, and filled with all sorts of unused stuff. The only light came from a hanging light that David turned on. It didn’t give much life, but just enough. We went to the corner that was closest to the room holding his TV only to find it filled with toys. David had moved in a few years back, so we assumed it must have been from the previous owners. There was a small red tricycle, a ragged, one-eyed doll, books and a few blocks with letters on them. Only thinking about the cable outlet, we took the stuff and dumped them in the trash outside.

When we got back inside, David pulled out his dads tool kit and we ventured back up into the attic. As we got closer to the corner, we heard the scurrying of tiny footsteps, as if it were a child running around behind us. We swung around to look, but nothing was there. Insisting it was a rat, David kept installing the outlet until it was finished, and all wires were connected.

We started making our way down the steps when we heard the tiny footsteps again. Thinking it was yet another rat, we kept going until we reached the second last step and heard a noise, which sounded nothing like footsteps. We stopped to listen again. Was what we were hearing crying? The crying continued, and we sprinted back up the stairs to find where the source of the crying was. Looking around, we found that the crying had stopped. I suggested that the crying might have been coming from one of the kids playing outside. David agreed, although I could tell that his mind had wandered back to ghosts. It had been months since he thought of them.

We left the attic and decided that we should take our minds off of it and watch TV. Our thoughts of the attic leaving us, we watched TV for a few hours. Halfway through one of our favourite shows, we heard a loud crash down the hall and the TV went black. Flipping through the channels, there was nothing but a dark screen. Immediately, thoughts of the crying child seeped into our minds, and we made our way to the bedroom down the hall.

Our first thought was to go into the attic, but the loud crashing noise came from the bedroom that resided under half of it. We decided to investigate, and start with the bedroom. We pushed open the door to see the four poster bed completely flipped over with the sheets still perfectly tucked in, and the posts crumpled into tiny rods.. We tried to lift it and found that it was way too heavy for two people to lift, let alone slam it down with enough force to damage the metal posts. The thing puzzling us was that the only way toward there was past the TV room, and we would’ve seen anyone who walked by.

Becoming a bit fearful of what was in the house, we pulled the stairs down by the long pull cord, walked up and emerged into the dusty attic to find that it had gotten much, much colder. Although afraid, we cared more about the TV then anything so we cautiously made our way to the outlet. When we got closer, we were shocked to see that the wires were cut. Not chewed off, but cut perfectly as if by wire cutters.

As I stood staring at the wires in disbelief, I could feel David tapping my shoulder violently. In a shaking voice I heard him say my name. As I turned my head, my heart skipped a beat. There was the tricycle with the doll sitting on it, and blocks stacked beside it. The same toys we threw out. As I looked in further, I noticed that the blocks stacked spelled out L-I-L-Y.

Staring in horror, our only thought was to get the hell out of there. Another loud crash from below increased our desire to leave. Something was seriously not right. As we put the stairs back up into the roof and made our way to his couches, I heard David swear so loud, I jumped. He ran towards his TV and fell to his knees. There was the doll standing in front of the TV, with the tricycle smashed right into the screen. The one thing that made this truly terrifying that the smashed TV was still in static.

Just then, the sound of running is heard behind us, and we turn in time to catch a glimpse of something small and dark, like a shadow, disappear around the corner. Having enough, we dashed to the bathroom and locked the door. Trying to figure out what’s going on, we begin to go over what just happened when a faint knocking is at the door. Our hearts stopped, while the knocking came again, and a giggling was heard. The giggling made my hair stand on end, because it wasn’t a playful giggling. It was like a laugh when your worst enemy sees you trip and fall.

As we sank back towards the wall, we heard the laughter and footsteps slowly fade away. We waited for a good hour before peering out the door. We gathered up our courage, and decided that it would be best to just leave, and the sooner we got out, the better. We tip-toed around the house until the door was in view, and then broke into a jog. We were almost there until we saw something that stopped us dead in our tracks. The wheel of the tricycle was lying right in front of the door. As we turned around, we saw the worn out blue blocks sitting there, stacked spelling out the word S-T-A-Y. Awestruck, we stood in silence as the pidder padder of tiny feet grew closer and closer.

We had never heard or experienced anything ever like this. It was probably the worst thing that has ever happened to us. As we just stood, staring, glued to the floor, David had an idea. He wanted to take the toys back to where they were originally. He had heard of people disturbing things that belonged to people that have passed away. Their spirits were angered by the disturbance. As we gathered the toys and made our way to the attic, we heard the sound of the small feet trailing us up. As we placed the toys back, the anxiety seemed to lift and we went back downstairs to find that the TV was good as new.

When David’s parents got home, we explained the whole ordeal to them. Though very skeptical, they decided to come in contact with the old owners to find out if they knew a Lily. They were surprised to find that the old owners, The Walden’s, had a daughter Lily who had died in a fire when she was 6. It happened in the attic, which was where she slept and played. Although nothing as wild has happened, the occasional sound of soft feet can be heard from the attic.

Is It Possible To Carry Spirits With You?

Is it possible to carry a spirit or multiple spirits with you? I believe my ex-girlfriend does. I’ve experienced things that cannot be explained, and I’m not lying!

When my ex and I were together, we lived in a house with her mother and little sister. There was an abandoned house next door. One night, when my ex and I got home and started walking up the path to the front door, all of a sudden music started playing from the house next door! Remember, this house is empty. Then as we kept walking, a very bright white light showed up out of nowhere and illuminated the whole house. So at that point we could see clearly into the house. We could see shadow people walking around inside the house and on the porch. And we could also hear them talking. I stopped to look to see if I could see their faces but I couldn’t. This is going to sound strange but eventually one of the shadow people invited me to come over. I don’t know if I was in some kind of trance or what but I started to walk over there but my ex grabbed my arm to stop me and we then went into the house.

Another time, it was night time and my ex’s mother and sister were gone and my ex and I were upstairs in our bedroom sleeping. All of a sudden a voice was calling my name waking me up. It sounded very clear like it was in the same room we were in. I tried to wake up my ex but she wouldn’t wake up. I finally answered the voice and it told me to come downstairs. Our bedroom was right next to the top of the stairs so all I did was poke my head out of the door and looked downstairs but it was completely dark! I immediately closed the door and took our desk chair and propped it up against the door and went back to bed.

The last story includes my ex and I laying down in bed taking a nap but this time it was during the day. I wake up to hearing someone whispering. It sounded like it was coming from directly behind me (I was laying on my side). I look at my ex because she was talking while still having her eyes closed (She was laying on her side facing me). She kept saying things like “No” and “I told you I said no.” Everytime she would say that, I would hear the whispering from behind me but I could never understand what it was saying. Then when she said no for the last time, I heard the voice say very clearly, “F**K YOU!” By then I jumped up to look but of course no one was there.

Also at night, I would look at the bottom of my bedroom door and always see feet standing outside my door. That always freaked me out! For those who believe in ghosts will find these stories true. Others might be skeptical but I have no reason to lie. My ex’s best friend told me about a similar experience (Voice calling her name) she had while spending the night at my ex’s house when they were younger. So, maybe it is true… you can carry a spirit or spirits with you.

Mexico City Swine Flu Outbreak - Is it a Man-Made Engineered Mutation?

We all know of the incredible economic devastation that an Influenza Type A deadly pandemic can cause. For instance, the Swine Flu Outbreak in Mexico City, which is now World-Wide and coming back to bite us in flu season, perhaps, with a mutated strain, something potentially worse, yes these are scary times and they very much hurt economies as citizens are afraid to leave their homes.

Still, who is to say that the Mexico City outbreak was not man-made created in a lab? It is an interesting strain, not expected, and the strain does not seem to meet our best guess probability computer modeling for potential mutations. Now, I am not saying it was, it is possible that it occurred and evolved naturally, viruses do mutate, we all know this.

Still, we know from studies in Russia, and perhaps due to the hanky panky going on in China (bio-weapons labs) that there are a number of folks that could have easily put that together, and Mexico City, with its unbelievable density, might have been a place chosen by those bio-weapons creators, as a place for it to be tested? Well, It's far away from Russia, China, and neither nation does a lot of trade there really, not like other very dense cities like Rio, where both China and Russia trade. Can We Really Predict the Future?

Most folks believe that future prediction is literally impossible, and they point to previous prediction that do not come true 95% of the time, and that the remaining times it's either just luck or a rounding statistical error. Prediction is not impossible, as long as you do not "own the idea" or claim it as you add additional components or layers of data too it. Yes, there can by unlimited numbers of pathways, like connections between neuron, and the potential eventualities of neural network flows. Still, there are many different ways to drive a car from where you are to Beijing. Which one you take may not be as important as where you have set out to drive too. Meaning; "The easiest way to predict the future is to create it" and I hope you see that point.

Hauntings - How Do You Know If a Location Is Haunted?

Hollywood has done a great job of making us think that hauntings are always obvious and that they are extremely scary and dangerous. The truth is that hauntings are not always obvious and not usually scary or dangerous. In fact, it can often be confusing to tell if a home is haunted. It takes some investigation to figure out if what is happening is in fact paranormal.

The First Step

What leads to you start investigating if your home is haunted is probably things that happened that seem unexplainable. You may feel cold spots or hear odd noises. In some case you may have seen something that seemed paranormal in nature. Whatever happened, something has brought you to the point where you feel you need to look further to see if your location is, indeed, haunted.

One of the first places to start in your investigation is doing some research into the location. You will want to look into the history of the home and the history of the land. Find out what used to be there. Go as far back as possible. You want to find out if something happened here that would trigger a haunting. Usually this would be a traumatic or major event.

Easy Explanations

Sometimes there are obvious explanations for what is happening. With some research and investigation you can uncover reasonable explanations for the things happening in your home. You want to look at each instance that has occurred and try to find an explanation that is not paranormal in nature. Too often people simply label something as paranormal without trying to see if there is another explanation for the event.

A good example of a common misunderstanding deals with cold spots. Most people have heard that spirits or ghosts leave a cold spot where they have been. When someone feels a cold spot they may believe that they have felt a ghost. In reality many cold spots are caused by air leaking through a drafty window or seeping in through an improperly insulated fixture.

Another common misunderstood event is shaky. Hollywood has many people convinced that spirits are very interested in shaking things to scare us, so it is no surprise that anyone who feels something shaking will immediately think it is a ghost. In reality, many instances of unexplained shaking can actually be explained. Airplanes going overhead or even trains can cause shaking and they do not have to be right close to the area to do so.

Checking Out Events

As part of your investigation you should check isolated events. Try to recreate the event exactly as it was. Set up the area in the same way it was when the event occurred. Make sure you account for all people and pets. You want to check for drafts and try to find an explanation for what happened.

When you are suffering a serious case you should completely check your whole home. Look at the electrical set up, the plumbing and check out all insulation. Many times faulty devices or aging fixtures can be to blame to supposed hauntings.

A Final Judgment

If you have went through your own investigation and have not been able to find an explanation outside of the paranormal then you may want to get professional help. You can call upon the assistance of a psychic that can carry out a séance that will connect you with the spirit world and enable you to ask if your home is haunted.

If you want a more practical approach then you can call upon the assistance of local paranormal investigators. They should not charge for their services. Ghosts and Ghost Hunting - What is a Ghost?

Everyone's heard of ghosts but no one knows for certain what a ghost is. People have been experiencing things they can't explain for thousands of years. Although there have been centuries of encounters with ghosts, what actually happens remains unexplained. There are many theories to explain the experiences that people have had and as there seem to be more than one type of haunting, different theories are used to explain different types.

A spirit that's seen is called an apparition. It�s usually a three-dimensional form that may look structured or more abstract, like a mist or globe of light. Spirits sometimes appear translucent but are often reported as being opaque. The spirit's appearance depends entirely how that particular spirit determines to project itself, or how it sees itself in its own mind. Tragedy comes in many forms, often accompanied by violence, and an individual's last thoughts tend to dominate the mind of his spirit after physical death. Therefore, the ghost will often manifest as a grotesque spectacle, representative of the nature in which it died.

No-one knows for certain what a ghost or apparition actually is, although there are many theories. One popular theory is that a spirit is a type of energy unique to all life. When life ends, this energy leaves the body and enters another dimension. As energy can't be destroyed, only changed, it may manifest as a ghost.

Real Life Vampires

As you may know by now, vampires are real and the first person whom you may come across the moment you walk out of your door might be one, yet you may not even notice it.

More and more vampires nowadays are coming out into the open, some are real vampires who understand vampirism and are aware of their true natures while others are sheer wannabes.

There are lots of people who actually think that they are vampires, but not all who claims to be a vampire and wear vampire clothing are vampires; a vast majority belongs to the Gothic subculture which is mostly composed of artists who into it for the lifestyle and vampire lovers who longs to be "turned".

Real Life Vampires doesn't have to wear capes to be vampires, they are vampires no matter what they wear, and yes, they're still vampires even if they're naked. They say that "clothing makes the man" but it doesn't make a vampire.

A real life vampire is born a vampire, self-realization usually occurs during puberty when lots of bodily changes occurs (no, they don't turn into bats), some realize it during their adult years and contrary to popular belief, this stage is what you may say the "embrace". The embrace of the vampire is simply a vampire's acceptance and awareness of his true nature. It doesn't have to involve bloodshed, any satanic ritual, or the worship of the devil.

There are generally two types of real life vampires, the blood feeders and the energy feeders. They are known as Sanguinarians and Psi vampires respectively in the vampire community.

Blood feeders? Yes, most real life vampires drink blood or are Sanguinarians but unlike the ones you see on movies and read on vampire fictions. None of these vampires are immortal or undead - at least I haven't met one!

Also, the need to consume blood is only to the minimum which means no vampire will hunt a person down to drain his blood unless of course if the person (vampire) is deranged or something.

Energy feeders, on the other hand, feed on energy mostly sourced from people (single person or crowd) though some claim that they can get energy from other sources like the ones generated by thunder.

A true "real life vampire" is a person who lacks either the capacity to produce or sustain his own "chi" energy that he or she has to depend on other sources in order for him to live a healthy and fulfilled life. This is the very special need that every vampire suffers and it makes them more often than not feel easily drained or very tired than the average person for no reason.

Real life vampires are also usually paler than the people of his region and is sensitive to the sun, fangs may or may not occur, and like anyone else, they'd surely die if "staked through the heart" - heck, they're people too!

I'm sure you've watched vampire videos on YouTube and other sites, most wear capes and sleep in coffins, and yes, drink blood. But then again, not all who sleep in coffins, wear capes, and drink blood are vampires, most may only be "lifestylers". Again, vampires have very special needs and if such a need is not present with the person who claims to be one, then the person isn't a vampire at all. But then again, there are real vampires who aren't aware of their true nature and will continue to suffer unless such energy deficiencies are addressed.

The Phoenix Lights

Perhaps of all UFO sightings in recorded history so far, the incidents that occurred on March 13, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A. stand out as the most credible. This is one of the rare cases, possibly the only case, where credible footage of the UFO sighting was not only available, but was also broadcast on CNN, the world's leading news network.

What makes the video footage even more credible is that there is footage taken by different people in different parts of town. Most of this footage shows eight orbs over the Phoenix sky. Seven of these orbs floated together, while an eighth was alone at a distance (the lone orb can be seen at the middle left of the photo at the left). This event was reported on CNN, USA Today and also the Discovery Channel. Many people in the world now know about the "Phoenix Lights" sighting. But what many may not know is that this was only one piece of a much larger puzzle, because on that night in March 1997, there were several UFO sightings reported over this area, including a large boomerang shaped craft, a top-shaped spinning craft, and a mammoth 3.2 kilometer wide triangle-shaped craft. There are also several witnesses.

At around 6:55 P.M. (Pacific Time), a young man in Henderson, Nevada reportedly witnessed a V-shaped object, with six large lights on its leading edge. He described the object as coming from the northwest and described it as being the size of a "Boeing 747", it generated a sound like a "gushing wind" and as it continued towards the southeast, it soon disappeared over the horizon.

The next reported sighting was from a former police officer in Paulden, Arizona. He had just left his home at 8:15 P.M. (Mountain Time), and was driving with his family. He described what he saw as "a very strange cluster of distinctly red-orange lights, which consisted of 4-5 lights in the lead, followed by a single light which appeared to be standing back from the others. The lights in the lead gave the impression of being in a 'V' formation, somewhat like a wedge or boomerang in shape." Each individual light in the formation seemed to the witness to consist of two separate sources of orange light.

Within minutes of these sightings, there were a barrage of phone calls coming in to the National UFO center, the police, local news media and the nearby Luke Air Force Base (LAFB) about similar sightings from nearby towns.

All this pointed to the fact that several objects, all markedly different in appearance, and most of them almost unbelievably large, passed over Arizona that night.

One group of three witnesses, located just north of Phoenix, reported seeing a huge, V- shaped craft with five lights on its ventral surface, eerily glide over them. The witnesses emphasized how gigantic the object was, as it blocked out up to 70-90 degrees of the sky. This craft was also photographed and the picture published in USA Today.

Another group of witnesses reported the largest craft of all, which was reportedly to be over 3 kilometers wide. This massive craft is known as the "Big Black Triangle".

This gigantic craft was first seen at close range over north Phoenix between 8:30 and 8:45 P.M. where the key witnesses (real estate people who subdivided the area) estimated its size to be as much as 3.2 kilometers wide as its wingtip lights fell over streets that are 2.8 kilometers apart. Its flight path brought it low to the ground (about 2,000 feet) where it was seen to not only have dozens of lights along its leading edges, but also a row of windows wherein the silhouettes of "people" were observed! At some point further south, other witnesses reported that they saw nothing but the row of windows with silhouetted beings as all the other lights were turned off at this point. Soon after the craft was seen by a family travelling on Interstate-10 freeway from Tucson to Phoenix.

To estimate the size of this object, consider the following testimony from this family. The witnesses, who were travelling in their car on I- 10 near Casa Grande said the object was so large that they could see one "wing tip" of the object from the left window of their car, and the other "wing tip" from the right. They estimated they were driving at approximately 130 kilometers per hour, and they remained under the object for between one and two minutes as it moved in the OPPOSITE direction! They emphasized how large the object was as it blocked out the sky over their car. They say that the ship was large enough for a C5-A Galaxy or "Condor" troop transport plane (the largest conventional aircraft known) to land upon it! The craft had definite structure to it, and a flat-blue black color like that of a shotgun barrel. They also reported seeing rectangular "panel-like" structures on the underside of the craft.

There were also reports of a large circular saucer shaped object that was an estimated 1.6 kilometers in diameter. This was first witnessed by a retired airline pilot, his sons and a friend, and seen coming down Scottsdale Road at about 10:20 P.M. This craft made a turn towards Sky Harbor where it intersected air traffic before disappearing from view over South Mountain. The corroborating central Phoenix witness, also a former pilot during the Vietnam War and retired U.S. Marshal, described how the craft both reflected the city lights on its underbelly and blocked out the stars with its upper half, attesting to its being a single craft of spectacular "mile-wide" proportions. This witness also claims that he videotaped the entire episode, but the videotape mysteriously disappeared in what may be a real life case of MIB (Men In Black).

Bill Greiner, a truck driver who never believed in UFOs till that night saw two large top-shaped spinning objects with a pulsating ring of red-light around it. Bill said that 3 fighters from LAFB tried to intercept the objects, but they suddenly shot off vertically into the sky, leaving the F-15s far below.

An another interesting aspect to the Phoenix Lights case is that despite several witnesses who say at least 6-8 pairs of F-15 fighters from the nearby LAFB were scrambled to intercept these gigantic UFOs, the Air Force denies it. LAFB public relations people have attributed the strange lights in the video to be "flares" dropped by an Air Force aircraft. However, all experts agree that the characteristics of flares are very different from what was seen on that night. No flares can last for as long as the lights over Phoenix did. Also, flares emit smoke trails as they drop, and they do not stay at a stationary altitude. This announcement clearly indicates an attempt to block the truth. The LAFB also denies that they received calls that night of strange occurrences over the Phoenix skies. But telephone records of scores of people clearly indicate otherwise. They called LAFB and reported these sightings.

Despite thousands of witnesses, videotape aired on CNN and the clear cover-up by authorities, this case was virtually blocked out from the print media, until USA Today did a front page article on this on June 18, 1997.

What really happened that night? Why is there a cover-up? Why is the media not helping in getting to the bottom of this case?

One thing is for certain, the Phoenix Lights sightings are humanity's clearest indication, so far, that we are not alone.

Two Simple Spells For Beginners

Spells for beginners obviously need to be basic and simple - but this does not mean that they can't be fun! Love Spell
Spells for beginners often include a love spell. After all, it's a subject very often on our minds! The key to getting this kind of spell right is to make sure that you really open up to possibilities. It should never be about controlling someone or attempting to bend their free will. Instead, try to concentrate on the general feelings of love rather than anyone in particular.

You will need:
4 floral incense sticks (lavender, rose or ylang ylang are good)
Holder or ash collector for each stick

Line the holders in front of you. Then take the first incense stick, light it and place it in the nearest holder, saying:
I whisper into the air, to open up the path of my future

Light the second stick saying:
I whisper into the air, to bring forth my one true love to me

Light the third:
I whisper into the air, to now open my heart to believe

And at the forth, say:
I whisper into the air and bid his/her name be whispered back.

Take a moment to focus on the swirling smoke before you. If you have psychic abilities you can use the smoke as a divination tool and look for any images or signs that come to you. How to Conduct a Seance and Communicate With the Dead

It is believed that a séance is a way for the living to contact and communicate with spirits of loved ones who have passed over. With a relatively small amount of equipment, a séance can be conducted in a safe and responsible way.

Gather a group of people who wish to participate in the séance. A good number is between 3-12 people. However, the group should be small enough to practically fit around a table. The group should include an experienced medium or psychic and all participants should be mature, trustworthy, have a good nature. They should be informed about what is involved in a séance and its possible risks.

Before the séance is conducted, a small amount of preparation is to be undertaken. A table is necessary and a round table is preferable. You may wish to cleanse the table with white salt. Place a hand on the salt and say words to the affect of "Blessings be upon this salt."

Scatter the salt on the table and surrounding areas and say words to the affect of "May this area be cleansed and blessed."

Put a cover on the table in spiritual colours such as white, purple or silver. Placing items such as fresh fruit or flowers on the table may entice and attract spirits. Set a candle in the middle of the table (preferably white.) You may also want to use the salt from earlier and sprinkle a circle of protection around the table and surrounding area and then place more white candles around this circle.

Before the séance begins, gather your group to discuss the following:
-Who you wish to lead the séance (this will probably be your medium or psychic.)
-What your agreed objective for the séance will be (for example, 'We wish to contact (name of spirit) and ask them...)
-What questions each individual of the group will want to ask.

Dim the lights and turn off any electrical disturbances such as televisions. Light the candles and incense (sandalwood, cinnamon and frankincense are good choices.) You may wish to turn on a tape recorder to capture any E.V.Ps (electric voice phenomena) and keep a pen and paper handy to record any events. Settle your group around the table and take some time to think about the person you wish to contact and join hands. You may want to start with a prayer of protection or a blessing. It will then be time for your leader to summon the spirits. They may want to start by ringing a bell to attract spirits. They will want to say something like: "We wish to communicate with (name of spirit.) Move among us. (Name of spirit) are you with us?"

Repeat until the spirit responds in any of the following ways:
-By rapping (rapping knocks around the room.)
-By speaking directly though the medium or leader.
-Table Tipping.
-Via a ouija board or planchette if these have been placed on the table.

Ask your questions and when the séance has come to an end, break hands, blow out candles. Thank the spirit and tell it to go in peace.

Safety Considerations:
-Only conduct a séance if you are happy to do so and feel comfortable psychologically and emotionally in participating.
-Always use a professional medium or experienced psychic.
-Be respectful to all the participants and spirits. Do not scare, yell or ask silly questions.
-Although séances are usually safe, they can attract malevolent spirits who can trick and lie. Use your instincts and do not trust trickery. If a harmful spirit makes contact. Firmly ask it to leave your circle and invoke your protection prayers.
-Do not break the circle of hands whilst a séance is being conducted.
-Do not conduct a séance if drunk.
-Do not conduct a séance with children.
-If you have developed a relationship with your spirit guides, allow them to assist you in the séance.
- Be aware of any fire dangers from burning candles and incense.

How to Use a Ouija Board

Before using the board, it may be of help to do some quick basic meditation exercises. Ensure everyone is sitting down comfortably and close your eyes. Breathe in for the count of five, hold your breath for the count of three and then breathe out again for the count of five. Repeat this five times and whilst doing so, concentrate on relaxing your body and clearing your mind.

I also recommend that you ask your spirit guide to step forward whilst using the board. This can be done verbally or mentally. Ask your guide to come forward and to give their protection whilst using the board. Ask that they help to bring spirit forward who only walk in light and love and to protect you against negative spirits.

You may also wish to use the board in a circle of white candles. This is another form of protection against negative spirits and also can add to the experience. However, please be aware of any fire risks this may pose.

Place the board on an even surface and sit participants around the board. The ideal number of participants is three to four and it is not recommended that just one person use the ouija board.

Place the planchette in the middle of the board and each participant should put a finger on the planchette, ensuring that each participant is comfortable and can allow the planchette to move freely around the board. Questions should then be directed at the board and the planchette may move and give a response.

Please be patient and persevere with the communications you receive, it may be that you have to keep attempting to use the board before you get an answer, the planchette may move very slowly or the letters spelt out may not make any sense. It may be helpful for someone to write down what is being spelt.

When you have finished, move the pointer to 'goodbye' and thank your spirit guides for their protection and spirit for their communications.

Some Do's and Don'ts:

Do:
-Use a ouija board with an open mind. There is much controversy about using ouija boards as a form of mediumship. Therefore, if you do not feel comfortable using one, don't!
-Invoke stronger protection rituals if you want. There are many books you can find on this subject.
-Be respectful when using the board, and put thought into the questions you are asking. Don't be stupid or be threatening, as spirit will give you back stupid and threatening responses.
-Use the board with people you trust. Participants who consciously move the planchette can scare other participants. If a participant wants to leave, move the planchette to goodbye and let them leave.

Don't:
-Use the board drunk, in a disrespectful or abusive manner.
-Let children or those with a nervous disposition to use the board.
