Self defense and protection is a must for college coeds. In today's times, all you have to do is watch the news or read a newspaper to see the increase in crime on our college campuses and dorms. Today there are products that you can carry in your purse or in your hand that will keep you one step ahead of any bad guys trying to cause you trouble.
Here are 3 Self Protection products designed to stop an attacker in his tracks:
1) Pepper Spray which comes in many different shapes and sizes. Regardless of the type of container, Pepper Spray will make your attacker cry - his nose will begin running out of control and his eyes will burn and tear. His throat will also burn and be constricted. All of these symptoms are non-lethal and temporary. (And, if the creep rubs his eyes it will only make things worse...).
2) Stun Guns are used best when somebody wants to get up close and personal. Just one touch with a Stun Gun will drop him to his knees, giving you time to run away and call 911. Please, do not stop and admire what you've done. He'll be thrashing about so watch our for his arms and legs - they can still do damage. Get the heck out of there immediately!
3) Personal Alarms are great items to carry with you - they are small, compact and give off a very loud alarm that will scare the attacker as well as attract attention from anyone around. Just a suggestion - don't test the alarm in your room. It makes a very loud noise and will bounce off the walls of your dorm room and that will hurt your ears. For the attacker, that's another story.
The most important thing to remember with self protection is to be alert to what's going on around you. Walk with your head up and your eyes moving so that there will be no surprises and you won't become a crime statistic.
